The Kindle is a great product and works well. My “out of the box” experience wasn’t so good. Registering the Kindle with my amazon.com account did not work despite various attempts. Not fun. So we called technical support. We got a support rep based in India who did some stuff on his screen and said it would work. After we hung up we tried to buy a book on Amazon.com but it failed. The error: “The book you want to buy is not available to customers in India”! So we called tech support again (and this time got someone who was better and happened to be based in the USA). She fixed it up and it worked after that.

I enjoyed this first book in a Harry Potter-sortof way. It’s good, fun escapism. What I like is how the tempo of the book changes from criminal drama to comedy to fantasy to spy novel, etc, etc… Initially, you aren’t really sure what is going on, but eventually the young anti-hero idea catches on and becomes a very entertaining narrative. Nathaniel Parker provides a fantastic narration, reminiscent of Jim Dale’s excellent characterization for the Potter audio books.
Having finished the first couple books, I’m led to think of the first two books almost as a continuous story, with many of the same characters recurring.
Worth checking out.

Tripp Internet INTERNET350SER Lite today

I bought this card just October 2009. I used this card on my Canon EOS T1i. At first, some pictures got corrupted every now and then. Then two days ago, when I format the card on my camera since it is always acting up, the camera cannot save pictures to it anymore. When I try to transfer image the pictures in my computer, the data cannot be read by the computer anymore.

I also have the 16GB of the same brand SD card, which I bought last December. No such luck! My T1i almost always cannot recognize the card. I have to turn on and off the camera or format it repeatedly before it can recognize it. I think I’m done with this brand. I ordered the Sandisk SD card now. I hope I will have some luck on this brand.
