I had been going back and forward over which Garmin Forerunner to buy. My running friends have the 405 and my brother has the 310xt. Both these models are pretty expensive and the 405 showed some bad reviews that made me doubt. For example, what made me worry is the fact that this one has sensitive touch buttons. After having an Ipod with it I realized that this would be bad for me, since after my runs I have sweaty hands and the sensitive touch does not always work.
So I looked into the 305, which is the bigger and older model.
I am soooo happy with it! I’ve logged about 15 runs with it and it’s been working great for me..

A couple cons: When running on a mountain bike trail the distance is not very accurate. The trail has many (MANY) small turns and such and is very overgrown with trees, so I expected it.
Running with the garmin on the track is also a little bit more difficult than with a regular watch. There are so many things on the screen, that it is sometimes hard to find the time per lap.

Overall it’s been a great experience! I love it and I’m happy I bought this one!

I am twenty-two years old. Probably not the oldest reader of this series, but I had to put my two cents in for this book and the others that follow.

I am up to ‘Lost Colony’ and having read the four books preceeding it, I have to recommend Artemis Fowl to anyone even slightly interested in the teen-fantasy genre.

I read the first novel when I was sixteen or seventeen and loved it. It’s a creative joyride, with some humorous and epic encounters, and the pages never stopped turning until I came to the last line. The story involves a literal boy-genius, twelve year old Irish lad Artemis Fowl, as he uncovers a secret underground society of fairies and the like. He eventually comes face-to-face with the hero of the tale (Artemis can be seen as an anti-hero of sorts), a young female fairy named Holly Short, an employee of the LEPrecon (get it?) police division.

Personally, I chuckle at things like LEPrecon. It’s funny and it becomes obvious Colfer is a great(er) writer as you move from page to page.

Personally, I find Artemis Fowl to be a much more enjoyable read than Harry Potter. I barely got into the first of the series and it was almost painstaking to do so. Artemis Fowl reeled me in and, obviously, I’m hooked. Looking forward to the ‘Time Paradox’ in July. You should too.

The details for which Tom-Tom unit this accessory works with would have been helpful. Not only are there NO instructions; this unit only works with Tom-Toms before the 720 series… so I gifted this unit to my brother. There is no way to indicate how to “synch” the units nor to tell if it is “on or off”; no instructions… and I finally called the Tom-Tom Help Desk to resolve my problem. I am flabbergasted, after this much fiddling around with the object, to find out that I have purchased one that will not work with my machine. At least I have a use for it; and SOMEONE will be happy; -if they can figure out how to work it… I hope it really is fairly easy to figure out… no instructions anywhere.

Who would ever think a modern white woman could write (believably) from the viewpoint of a southern, african-american domestic? I sure didn’t. However, this book conveys as a true representation of the hearts of many southern domestics as well as the women they worked for (good and bad). Anyone looking to improve his/her own understanding of race relations should read it! I give it a standing ovation!
